Born in Iowa and raised in Illinois,
Cindy moved to Tucson in 1970. She was immediately inspired by the beauty
of the desert and the stong sunlight with its resulting cast shadows.
"I love to create bold images using sharp contrast between light
and shadow. Most of my work is representational, but with these strong
lights and darks, they often have abstract qualities as well as make
interesting compositions."
Inspired by Andy Warhol, Cindy's most
recent works are more focused on design and color and her main subject
being cats and dogs. Bring in a picture of your cat or dog and Cindy will paint it for you...realistic or colorful and fun. "I used to paint mostly with watercolor, but
I use acrylic paint more now because I realy enjoy the bright intense
colors."
