Grace Calterone

Creative expression began for Grace Calterone while attending classes at Carnegie Museum of Art in her native Pittsburgh. Her love for figurative paintings can be attributed to four years of exposure to the many sculptures there. As an adult, she received her formal art education at the University of Arizona, where she also became certified to teach art. Eventually, Grace taught in the middle school and at present, teaches painting at her studio in Tucson.

In addition to her figurative paintings, Grace is well-known for her lyrical desert scenes. Combing the desert and mountains for subjects to paint, she brings the desert to life with color, energy and her unique style.

Grace has exhibited her work in both Pennsylvania and Arizona, and has been accepted in national shows. Her work is in private homes and collections in the United States, Canada, Latin America and Europe.
