Judith S. Bateman

Judith Bateman is an Ohio native and graduate of Ohio State University School of Fine Arts. She has lived in Southwestern cities for thirty years and has absorbed the cultures of New Mexico, Arizona and Mexico. She has painted with many notable artists and taken advanced studies at the University of Texas, El Paso.

Mrs. Bateman works in various mediums including painting on silk, a field in which she has been nationally recognized and received numerous awards. Her paintings of watercolor, acrylic and silk dyes are found in many private and corporate collections. Recently she has added clay and fiber figures in the form of animal shamans to her new body of work. Subject matter includes figurative work, animals, landscapes and abstracts. All of her pieces are characterized by the use of pure color and texture.

Judith Bateman's paintings have appeared in national juried competitions and in shows throughout the United States.
